My two puppies....Edition #2 Maserati

Maserati...aka Masi (ma zeee) She is approxiamately 10 weeks old, a dark blue female Weimaraner puppy. I don't have her papers yet, and I'm not sure when we will get them, I WILL be getting vet records and such soon, but it was sorta a hasty pick up. Here is her story. Mazi came from a good breeder for $1000.00! Happy couple brings her home, within the week she has eaten rat poison, YES rat poison, back to the breeders she goes, half dead. The breeder spends $7000 at the vet office to save her. After long days of IV's, meds and such she has recovered. So off to the foster home she goes. This foster home father just happens to work with Dewey, BUT its the office secretary who contacts Emily (Happy Tails Owner's Wife) saying they need to find a home for a weim. I've always loved them, but didn't think WE could have her so I call dew, to ask a guy at his work that works with bird dogs. Dew becomes interested, and when I get out of work we decide that YES we can have her. So the next day I call the Secretary at Dew's work (this is when i found out everything was all connected wierd yes). Unfortunately someone picked the puppy up that morning. But she wasnt sure she could financially support the pup, nor be able to handle her. Well not even a week later we get a phone call saying the lady will be returning her to the fosters, so yesterday morning at 7:30 I drove to dew's work and picked the puppy up. We got Sid during this week that the other lady had mazi, and now I can't give him up, so we have worked out the kinks. I LOVE PUPPIES. and i'm so happy to have a weim AND a basenji :)

My two puppies....Edition #1 Sid

Sid is a 7 month old basenji whom I've Fallen in LOVE with. He is just wonderful. He follows me around everywhere. He is actually sitting under my chair right now ;). He will be living most of the next 9 months while I am back at school with Glo. She is the breeder and my friend. This way he can stay intact, have a show career, and I'd still be able to have him as my own after I graduate from my last year of undergraduate school *YIPPEEE**** Anyways he is adorable. He is doing great at the daycare. His first day was a little rocky, but he's gotten MUCH better since then. I really think he's starting to bond with me. Not so much with dew I'm afraid :(. Dewey is rather upset that Sid is CONSTANTLY looking for me, when I'm not there with him and dew. Like this morning on his walk, he WOULD NOT walk and kept trying to run back to the house, he did finally go to the bathroom however! Well here is my little boy *grin*

Long summer weekend called the 4th

Well its been a LONG weekend and now I'm doing the split shift at work...meaning I get to come home for 4 hours for "lunch". This last weekend was the 4th of July...Independance day...whoo who! Me and the Dew went to visit my dad. It was good and bad all at the same time. For some reason (PMS maybe?) I just couldn't handle my dad this weekend. I had a VERY short fuse and he kept pissing me off. Normally his rantings and ramblings are easily ignored, but not this weekend. Oh well he seemed happy to see me, and sent me home with more stuff. I finally was able to bring my antique sewing machine home. Its one of the original electric Singers that is attached to a table. Its really cool, but until now we didn't have anyway to bring it home, since we just had a small car, and it wouldn't fit.

I took some pretty pictures while i was there. I took a few of the chickens and the barn swallows, and some of the scenary. There is an awesome veiw of the mountains from the farm. We took the scenic route home, so I have some pretty pictures of that too. *phew* so last night we went to see the fireworks and I filled my digital camera, much fun ;). ha! We walked there and back so my knee is hurting again....bleh! and when we got home we didn't get to sleep till after midnight because the damn neighbors kept lighting off their own illegal fireworks *grumble* Early bed time for me tonight. I'll post some pictures

I want a pair of Ratties

I'm so bored, so i've been looking up ratties. I've always wanted one, and since they should have atleast one friend i'd end up getting 2 or 3. Ever since I was in highschool I had wanted a rattie, but i've never been able to have one :(. When I worked at Pet Quarters there was this lady that brought in 6 ratties. They were the cutest, and EXACTLY what I want in a rattie, except they didn't have dumbo ears. I want a black (or very dark brown or gray) berkshire blazed dumbo eared rattie, and a black hooded rattie. Those are my favorites! They do have these "harley" type coats that you can get and they are SOO adorable, basically its a rat with long hair that looks like its been driving around on a motorcycle! Some day I will get myself a couple ratties. And until then i'll just look at pictures longingly.

Finally the Orono Royal...and other such unpleasantries....

Well I got up at 5:30am on Saturday...and was at the farm at 6am to get peaches ready for the royal. Poor thing, we had to give her a bath...so didn't the others. All the heifers were miserable and wet. But she was all pretty for the show. I place 5th with her. She was acting up of course. I think it was because of the show halter, i had her on the regular nylon one all morning and she was doing well. But the second i put the show halter on she was throwing her head all over the place and being a major bitch! Wouldnt stop, kept trying to run me over *grrr* I am thinking that if I left my rope halter on, I may have finished better. But no good saying if this or that.

Anyways...My Animal Nutrition final went well. I think i'll get alteast a B in the class. I'd like to get higher, but i'm not sure if i will. Some ASSHOLES stole all but one of the copies of the old exams. So I wasn't as prepared as I was for all the other classes. There were 5 copies of old exams. And since he tends to recycle questions on his exams I usually go over all the questions of all the old exams, and it gives me a good advantage on the tests. (i did that and got a 93 on the last one...so it works) but this time i only had ONE! *grr* so i think i got ATLEAST a 70...but if i had the others i would have been in the 90's again AND would have gotten an A in the class... SOOO pissy! There is WAY to much information to feasibly study it all.

Oh well, I have another Final this afternoon. Not to worried about that one though, its for the class that I had to show Peaches in. Most of the class was hands on stuff, and he had said as long as you come to all the classes you really can't get a bad grade. I went over all the stuff yesterday so I think i'm in pretty good shape. *phew*

Its been a crazy last few days. Velvet flipped over in the trailer! and could have potentiall broke her neck...LUCKILY though she only has some minor bruises, no cuts, no injuring her back or lameness THANK GAWD! and then yesterday glo finally got the electric fence working for the dog pen (they kept escaping) and Alibi ended up getting caught in it somehow. By the time glo turned the fence off, he was having seizures! So she brought him to the Emergancy Vet...he had hemoylytic anemia (probably do to lysing of the cells with the electricity) BUT he has recovered and came home this morning again THANK GAWD! Craziness! is all i have to say about that.

Then i'm talking with my mother and my "mentally" challegned step sister wants to have a baby. Keeps telling everyone she wants to have a baby. She has Cerebral Palsy, so for the most part she is just has very slow reaction times, has a 7th grade reading level, and its taking classes to learn how to live by herself. They are arranging a group home for her to live in. She is not exactly the type of person you would want having a baby. She has temper tantrums, is very unreliable, and acts as if she is 12. I can't imagine how she would be able to support or care for a baby, not to mention what would happen if she got mad at it. I could very welll see her killing it. I remember when I used to live at home she'd get pissed and throw things at the cat or dog! *phew*!

My mom of course thinks they should have her "fixed" I couldn't believe it when she said that! I was like MOM! you can't do that. No she shouldn't have kids,,,, but you can't just fix her, shes not a dog. Even though there is a huge population of babies needing to be adopted. whatever her having a baby is just NOT cool....I guess mom caught her and her boyfriend (also mentally challenged) in the woods about to have sex (yes its alittle cold for that outdoors right about now, but i guess she doesnt care...and ticks??? ew!) unprotected. She is really all about this having a baby thing...and i'm really worried she is going to end up pregnant in the not to distant future...*sigh* alright time to do other things, and take my mind off of depressing thoughts!
